Tassaba to ME

I just wanted express my gratitude publicly to a certain someone in our lives that has supported us since we first moved to NE Mpls. I don't think she'd want to be named, and I'm not even sure if she checks our blog. But in case she does, I wanted to publicly say THANK YOU! This person purchased Rabi's first piece and others, brought friends and family to our shows, and recently has offered us one of the best opportunities we have ever received. I don't even quite know how to thank her for this blessing.

PS, a tassaba is something done in Burkina Faso. When you want to thank or honor someone publicly, you clap 3 times, pause, clap 3 times, pause, clap 1 time, and then thrust your arms out with your palms towards that person.

Kora

Since we import koras, I thought it might be interesting for y'all to check out a photo journal on the BBC called "Kora Maker".

Awesome instruments...

Shout Out to Cali

If you check out our ClustrMap, you'll see that we have quite a following in California. Now, we don't know very many people in that part of the US. So Yarbi Design blog viewers, please leave comments! We want to know who you are and what you think of our stuff. Constructive criticism is always welcomed.

Good Things to Come

Rabi's shop is now complete. He finally got his hands on a plasma cutter! What does this mean to Rabi? A new toy! And better products.

What does this mean to me? Just that he'll be spending more time in the garage and that he'll be making some wicked new pieces.

Be on the lookout!

We're Moving!

As of January 15th, Rabi will no longer be found in the garage. You can find him at his new studio located at:

Q.arma Building
1224 Quincy St NE Suite B25
Minneapolis, MN 55413

There are 2 public galleries, and the building participates in Art-A-Whirl and Art On Quincy. I think we're going to try and do First Thursdays as well. Our neighbors include Rift Magazine, Altered Esthetics, and a couple of other artisans.

We are really excited for this next step so come stop by!
